国际新闻传播硕士项目(IJC)介绍
项目简介
中国传媒大学新闻传播学部自2012年开始,正式开设国际新闻与传播硕士研究生班(Master’s Degree for International Journalism and communication)。学部为该项目精心打造了十二门全英文授课的课程,招收的学生为国际新闻和新媒体两个专业方向。
如今每年招收超过二十名来自世界各国的学生。已招收的学生来自于澳大利亚、挪威、巴基斯坦、哥斯达黎加、刚果、加纳、美国、加纳、立陶宛、英国、塞拉利昂、蒙古、泰国、佛得角、喀麦隆、厄立特里亚、坦桑尼亚、柬埔寨、波兰、厄瓜多尔、爱尔兰、意大利、印度尼西亚等二十多个国家。有跨文化、多语种、跨学科专业背景的特点。
培养目标
国际新闻与传播硕士课程旨在培养具有全球视野、战略思维的新闻传播学国际人才??纬探ㄈ宋谋尘敖逃?,新闻传播学理论教育,与新闻采访、写作、编辑、拍摄和报道等实际能力培养。使得学生能够掌握在全新的国际政治经济文化背景与传媒技术背景下,进行国际新闻传播事业的能力。

项目特点
1、国际化教学团队
负责该项目的教师都具有国际化学术背景,同时该项目还引进来国际名校的海外名师,优化课程结构、进一步提升教学的国际化水平。以根据国际学生的特点,特别注重对他们的国际新闻传播理论和实务能力的培养。
2、理论和实践相结合
国际新闻传播硕士课程既注重理论和研究方法教学,同时也用典型、新鲜、丰富的案例式教学;既能够把当下的新闻传播实践引介到课程中来,又能够针对国际课程外语教学的特点,使概念性的内容生动活泼起来,激发同学们的参与兴趣,充分体现了国际课程的语言特色在教学中的整合式介入。
3、多元文化和比较研究
由于该班学生独特的多元性构成,因此不同国家、不同文化背景的差异往往会给课堂讨论带来非常丰富的视角和内容??纬躺杓屏苏攵圆煌掖讲捣⒄?、传媒文化的比较研究(comparative studies)工作坊。
4、社会活动
IJC项目积极组织国际学生参与社会活动和实地调研。学生参观访问中国中央电视台、新华社等重要新闻机构,并有机会在其中进行实习。除此之外,还借力于北京文化中心、政治中心、媒体中心的区位特点,积极参加北京各种文化活动和社区活动,在实践中体验北京的魅力。

The Faculty of Journalism and Communication is comprised of three schools and ten research centers. The three schools are School of Television, School of Journalism and the Institute of Communication Studies. Among the list of centers that currently enroll students are Center of Asian Media Studies, Media and Gender Institute, and the Centre of Chinese Documentary Studies. The discipline of Journalism and Communication of the university is ranked number one in China according to the latest assessment by the Chinese Ministry of Education.
About IJC
The Faculty of Journalism and Communication officially began its enrollment in the Master’s Degree for International Journalism and Communication (IJC) in 2012. Since then, IJC has been offering twelve specially-designed courses, which all use the English Language as the medium of instruction. So far, students from over twenty countries have been enrolled including more than 20 different countries like Pakistan, Tanzania, Cambodia, Australia, U.S.A, Norway, Poland, Ireland, Italy, Thailand and many more. The students recruited span a plethora of cultures, languages, and academic background- this leads to IJC being one of the most culturally diverse faculties.
Objectives of IJC
The Faculty of IJC is dedicated to fostering competent International Journalism and Communication practitioners, enhancing the students’ global perspective and improving the strategic and critical thinking. The program will try to mold the students into a ‘well rounded’ media practitioner; IJC teaches various courses and skills that will achieve this goal. Among the list of courses offered are Liberal Arts, Journalism and Communication Theories; the practical skills include: News Interviewing, Writing, Editing, Filming, and Reporting. IJC helps students to get the ‘know-how’ of Global Economics and Politics; focus is also placed on the newest media techniques to equip students with International Communication skills which will set them distinguished from their counterparts in the field.

1. International Teaching Staff
Professors and Lecturers in charge of the program all have international academic backgrounds. The Faculty of IJC recruits world renowned Foreign Professors from internationally acclaimed universities to work alongside their Chinese counterparts. The course structure is also optimized to focus on meeting internationally acceptable standards of discourse within the various programs. The Faculty of IJC is determined to have its international students learn journalism theories and master practical skills concurrently; this way the student will be fully prepared to handle many technical skills and become more competent in the field.
2. Combining Theory with Practice
The Faculty of IJC is dedicated to focusing on both theoretical research and teaching. IJC uses case-by-case teaching which incorporates a variety of the latest journalistic cases. The Faculty of IJC also introduces the newest media practices to the courses, and tailor the courses to make them both edifying and interesting to the students.
3. Cultural Diversity and Comparative Studies
The Faculty of IJC’s students are multi-cultural. The representation of different cultural backgrounds brings different perspectives and ideas into course discussions. The Faculty of IJC has designed workshops of Comparative Studies on Media Industry Development and Media Cultures of different countries. These efforts allow students to share their perspective and purview on media and development. This process allows information to be shared and generates curiosity and appreciation for different methodologies in media practice.
4. Social Activities
The Faculty of IJC actively involves students in social activities and also in on-site research and surveys. Students are taken on various excursions to major news organizations such as China Central Television (CCTV), Xinhua News Agency and China Daily. This helps them to see the theories that they are taught being put into practice. Internships are also arranged for students in these elite and prestigious organizations. There are other extracurricular activities organized in and around Beijing, which is China’s media, political and cultural hub.
